We’ve had the driest January in 10 years in Singapore, according to newspaper reports. January is normally a very wet month due to the Northeast Monsoon. The lack of rain is showing every where: grass is brown, the trees along the motorwars look barren, and the Seletar reservoir, which I pass by once a week, is looking drained.
Today it rained, a good old-fashioned downpour with lightning. I grabbed two pictures, with and without Wide Dyn. Range, with my innov8 phone. Once again, the WDR feature made a big difference. According to the EXIF header, the exposure time is the same for both frames, though the ISO is higher (1660) for without than for with (1220). There is significant row-wise noise visible in the images.
